And why wouldn't they be? Luffy's clash against Kaido, employing the might of Gear 5, commences.

The battle between Luffy and Kaido in the actual anime has just commenced, all thanks to Gear 5 Luffy's astonishing abilities that defy human comprehension.

This is precisely why the entire fandom eagerly anticipates the release of the upcoming One Piece episode 1072.

The forthcoming One Piece Episode 1072 is scheduled to be available for all fans on Sunday, August 12th, 2023, titled “Silly Power! Gear 5 in Full Play”.

Here are the release times in different time zones:

  • Pacific Time (US & Canada): 5:30 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
  • Central Time (Mexico): 6:30 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
  • Eastern Time (US & Canada): 8:30 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
  • Indian Standard Time (India): 06:00 AM on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
  • Australian Standard Time (Australia): 02:00 AM on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

In the previous episode, fans got a glimpse of Gear 5th, along with a sighting of Kaido.

All these elements converge in this episode, and fans are well aware that One Piece has truly delivered in these moments.

This may not be the entirety of Luffy and Kaido's showdown, but it serves as a grand introduction to Gear 5 and the Gomu Gomu no Mi.

As the previous episode unfolds, we witness Luffy rising once again, invoking comparisons to the Legendary Joy Boy. As we saw in the previous episode, Zunesha's cries resonate.

In parallel, Zunesha mentions hearing the Drums of Liberation for the first time in 800 years, leading to the belief that Joy Boy has returned.

Meanwhile, as Luffy regains his consciousness, he marvels at his ability to stand despite losing the battle. Laughter ensues, accompanied by a captivating musical backdrop.

Interestingly, this particular moment was absent in the manga. While the manga depicted Luffy ready to engage, I'm delighted to see this addition in the anime, complete with the vibrant yellow light.

One Piece Episode 1071: Recap and Review

Further into the episode, fans also observe Sanji recovering his senses and questioning Luffy's actions on the rooftop.

On the Show Floor, characters including Kid and Law are left pondering the commotion and luminance above them.

Cutting to Mary Geoise, we witness the Five Elders discussing the sacrifice of Guernica, who attempted to halt Luffy.

Moreover, fans learn about the discussion surrounding Luffy's Devil Fruit. One of the Elders mentions that the World Government has persistently sought the Gomu Gomu no Mi for 800 years, yet it has remained elusive.

Others propose that the fruit's elusive nature might be due to its innate will. Being a Zoan-Type Devil Fruit, it bears the name of a deity, known as Zoan, Human-Human Fruit, Myth-Type, Model "Nika".

Additionally, it is revealed that Nika possesses rubber-like properties, enabling spirited combat and eliciting smiles.

This enigmatic figure is none other than the Warrior of Liberation, also recognized as “Nika,” the God of the Sun.

Upon awakening the Gomu Gomu no Mi, it bestows even greater potency and freedom to its wielder's rubbery form, rendering it an incredibly outlandish power in the world.

Fully empowered in Gear 5th, Luffy emanates a formidable Haoshoku Haki, resulting in the collapse of numerous members of the Beasts Pirates. Concurrently, Luffy seizes Kaido in his Dragon form and hoists him, marking the commencement of an exhilarating and amusing anime brawl. This juncture ushers in battles akin to the legendary rivalry of Tom and Jerry.

Now in cinemas: Experience the most bizarre anime concert of the year with "One Piece Film: Red" [review]

With "One Piece Film: Red" the straw hat gang finds its way to the cinema screen for the 15th time. We'll tell you why the film isn't just worth seeing for "One Piece" fans.

This article reflects the opinion of the author and not necessarily that of all kino.de editors.

Since October 13, 2022, it's been "cast off" and "set sail" for Monkey D. Luffy and his crew to be able to cheer for superstar Uta at their first live concert on the music island of Elegia. I've taken a look at "One Piece Film: Red" and I don't want to withhold my opinion from you at this point.

You can also find out what awaits you in the new “One Piece” movie

One Piece Film: Red: What is it about?
Anyone who has already seen the trailer knows that the focus is on a new character, singing diva Uta. With her angelic voice, she has built up a large fan base, which is now traveling to Elegia full of anticipation to hear Uta sing live for the first time. However, the tide turns when Monkey D. Luffy reveals a dark childhood secret. The horror among the concert guests does not prevent Uta from continuing her show - after all, her goal is to ensure eternal happiness with her songs. However, Luffy and the Straw Hat gang do not like how she puts this plan into action. When they lure Uta out of reserve, a life-or-death struggle ensues; because the "new era" that Uta sings about promises anything but bliss...

More for the ear than for the eye?
Unlike many other anime, "One Piece Film: Red" doesn't hesitate and starts right at the beginning of the concert. And let me tell you one thing: Music is guaranteed not to be neglected in this film. Uta performs a total of seven songs over the course of the 115-minute runtime (listen at Amazon) - in the original sound, because none other than J-Pop star Ado lends Uta her voice. Yes, you read that right; even those who watch the film in the German dubbed version will hear the original songs. But don't worry: the subtitles are easy to follow and do not detract from the viewing experience in any way.

Although the focus in the new "One Piece" anime is clearly on the music, the film also comes with a refreshingly innovative story that doesn't even have to leave the music island of Elegia to take us to other worlds. Anyone who expects too big plot twists and an unpredictable plot (and generally appreciates the nature of Eiichirō Oda's "One Piece" manga) will not be completely satisfied. Nevertheless, "One Piece: Red" occasionally surprises. Action-packed fight scenes, heart-rending dialogues and whimsically imaginative animations complete the cinema title.

A must-have, not just for One Piece fans
Needless to say, fans of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats shouldn't miss this spectacle. But with "One Piece Film: Red" those responsible put together an all-round mannered overall package that is not only suitable for "One Piece" fans. Almost incidentally, the characters give sufficient explanations about all the important backgrounds, making it possible for even anime and manga laypeople to follow the plot of the film. If you have a heart for music and especially J-Pop, you will also get a taste for it.

If you want to convince yourself of "One Piece Film: Red", you should go to the cinema from October 13, 2022.
