Hollywood star Tom Cruise wants to continue producing films for the cinema and not for streaming services like Netflix. "I make films for the big screen," said the US actor at the Cannes Film Festival in southern France on Wednesday. "My films are not released directly on the platforms. Going to the cinema means having a shared experience, regardless of our culture or language."

Cruise said he always watches movies as soon as they come out in theaters. In order not to be recognized, "I put on a hat," joked the Hollywood star. At the age of four he dreamed of making films. "I grew up watching the films of Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin," said Cruise, 59, ahead of the Cannes premiere of his new film Top Gun: Maverick. "Making films has been a great journey for me."

Denis Villeneuve makes room for more stars in his epic ensemble.
The emperor is found. One of the last major roles in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" film adaptation has been added, and it will be Christopher Walken who gets to play one of the galaxy's most powerful characters.
 
Villeneuve has saved the role of Emperor for his sequel, "Dune: Part Two". There we also get to see Florence Pugh in the role of his daughter Princess Irulan. In another new role, "Elvis" star Austin Butler appears as Feyd-Rautha, a relative of the baron played by Stellan Skarsgård.

We last saw Walken in the TV series "Severance".
 
Veteran actor Walken appeared in an Oscar-winning supporting role in "The Deer Hunter" (1978) and has made memorable contributions in "Living Target" (1985), "Batman Return" (1992) and "Pulp Fiction" (1994). He was most recently featured in the TV series "Severance" on Apple TV +.

Some of the actors who will return to the desert planet Arrakis are Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin. The recording of "Dune: Part Two" kicks off this fall, Deadline writes. The cinema premiere is scheduled for October 20, 2023.

The young actors were introduced in the winter reboot "Scream" as the gang of friends in the city of Woodsboro, who 25 years after the first serial killer tragedy suffered a new bloodbath.
 
According to previous reports, Courteney Cox will also return in the role of Gale Weathers, whom she played since the original film from 1996. So far, we do not know if there is even a place for Neve Campbell's Sidney.

"Scream 6" is again directed by the duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who took over the franchise after Wes Craven's death. Today, the spin-off to "How I Met Your Mother", with the ingenious title "How I Met Your Father", premieres at Disney +. In the series, we get to follow Hilary Duff in search of a father for her unborn children.

Long after "How I Met Your Mother" ended, it's time to capitalize on the brand again. Like the original series, "How I Met Your Father" is about parents telling their children about how they met their respective. In the new series, we get to follow Sophie, played by Hilary Duff (from among others "Lizzie McGuire"), and her group of friends. The role of the older Sophie is played by Kim Cattrall (Samantha from "Sex and the City"), who gets to act as the narrator in the series.

In the US, the series has not been received with open arms. Critics say that "How I Met Your Father" alludes too much to nostalgia without coming up with anything new. An example of this is that two of the main characters live in the same apartment as Ted, Marshall and Lily lived in the original.
 
Another criticism of the series is that the tonality seems to be uneven and clumsy. Ciara Wardlow, from RogerEbert.com, for example, writes that “In a way, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the series, but there is nothing right with it either. It's just a big nothing ”. In other words, "How I Met Your Father" seems to be worse than its model.

Despite the criticism, it will be exciting to follow Sophie's quest for fatherhood, and see if the series can maintain the same level as the original. Personally, I was a fan of both "Lizzie McGuire" and "How I Met Your Mother" when both series went, so I should reasonably appreciate something in this new spinoff.
