Marvel's Black Panther 2 First Reviews: The Best MCU Movie Yet?

In Germany, the MCU film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be in cinemas on November 9, 2022, in about two weeks. However, the big world premiere took place yesterday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. In addition to many celebrities, numerous journalists and influencers were invited to this event, who published their impressions on various social media channels shortly afterwards. Although these are not in-depth reviews, they do at least give a first impression of the mood. Therefore, the question arises as to how well Black Panther 2 was received by the guests.

The best MCU film yet?
The tweets and other reports paint a mostly positive picture of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Some of the journalists from the trade press are outright full of praise. Brian Davids from The Hollywood Reporter magazine, among others, was particularly impressed, and in his preliminary review he almost went overboard with a few superlatives.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is Marvel's most poignant and powerful film to date. It's powerful and dark in a way that's necessary. It largely abandons the studio's familiar tonality."

His colleague Charles Pulliam-Moore from the magazine Verge takes a similar view, who especially emphasizes the emotional tone of Black Panther. highlights Wakanda Forever. He describes the film's storyline as one of the "most intimate and heartfelt" in MCU history to date. Instead of focusing on pure superhero spectacle, he focuses on emotions like grief. Other premiere guests were touched by the way the late actor Chadwick Boseman was honored in the film.

"Terrifier 2": New horror shocker causes violent reactions!

Horror films make headlines best through blatant audience reactions. The newest flick in this category: Terrifier 2!

In the 90's a film became world famous that was made for very little money. But word of mouth about how spooky The Blair Witch Project was made the found footage flick very special -- and a huge hit. Since then, horror fans have always listened when a film triggers blatant reactions in the cinema hall.

The latest cult hit here could be "Terrifier 2". In 2016, the first film with the new serial killer Art, the Clown was ridiculed, apart from the bloody murder sequences little was offered. That seems to be changing now, because since the sequel has been in cinemas in the USA, reports of fainting spells or choking noises in the cinema have been piling up.

Even horror icon Stephen King seems to be a big fan, saying "Terrfier 2" would gross out viewers in the old-fashioned way:

The reactions help. On a budget of just $250,000, the film has already grossed over $5 million and will be showing in over 1,000 theaters across the United States over the weekend. It is questionable whether "Terrifier 2" will also be released in German cinemas, after all it is extremely bloody - something that the FSK is known to be not always friendly to.

Kevin Feige Breaks Silence About James Gunn's DC Studios Announcement

Everyone was taken by surprise when James Gunn was announced as head of DC Studios, and they feared that the relationship between him and Kevin Feige could be strained because of it.

During the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the head of Marvel Studios was asked about the matter by Deadline, and he gave an animated and pragmatic answer at the same time.

Kevin Feige began by saying that James Gunn is aware that he still has a lot of work to do with Marvel until May of next year, when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be in theaters.

Following, he completed his statement by saying that after the director delivers his next film, he can move on with his life, which will count on your full support in everything he needs.

James Gunn is taking over the leadership of the division alongside Peter Safran, starting on the 1st of November.

Which may justify Feige's concern to reinforce the director's commitment to Marvel, given that he will be playing a key administrative/creative role while still working on post-production on the next Guardians of the Galaxy film.

Gunn and Safran will be responsible for overseeing the film, TV and animation efforts at the newly formed division of Warner Bros. Pictures, which will replace DC Films.

In recent weeks, Gunn and Safran have met on different occasions with Michael De Luca, co-president of Warner Bros. Pictures.

We know that Gunn will focus on the creative side, while Safran will be in charge of production and negotiations.

The two will report directly to David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, in close collaboration with De Luca and the company's other film chief, Pamela Abdy.

Michael J. Fox: Female Lead for New 'Back to the Future' Movie

Michael J. Fox thinks 'Back to the Future' should be remade, starring a female Marty McFly.

The 61-year-old star played the character in the sci-fi comedy trilogy and is hoping a female star will take on the lead character when the franchise returns to the big screen. Michael told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I actually had a thought that if they do the film again, they should do it with a girl as Marty." It's been nearly four decades since Michael first starred in the original 1985 film and he's confident another Back to the Future movie will be made as the series "resonates with people on every level." . The actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, added: "There's something about it that appeals to people on all levels. I just have a feeling it's going to come back."

Michael revealed he's still impressed by the passion fans have for the films, which were released between 1985 and 1990. "What's most amazing about 'Back to the Future' is that - and it has nothing to do with me - it has this life. People not only like it and remember it, they celebrate it and let themselves be mine Tattooing her face on her leg, and that's crazy, but in a good way," Fox said.

'Back to the Future' screenwriter Bob Gale had ruled out the possibility of a fourth film in 2020. So the future will tell if and in what form a new Back to the Future flick will come.

Black Adam debuts with $ 27 million on Friday

Excellent Friday debut for Black Adam at the American box office: the Warner Bros. cinecomic raised $ 26.8 million, including $ 7.6 million from previews on Thursday afternoon and evening.

This is the fifth-highest debut day in October, and the highest ever in The Rock's career (beating Hobbs & Shaw's 23.6 million). Released in 4,400 North American theaters, the film is expected to close the weekend with around $ 62 million, although there is a good chance it will rise to 65 million overall (the CinemaScore is B +, the same as cinecomics such as Venom, Venom 2, Joker, The Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984). It would be the first film to debut above $ 50 million since Thor: Love and Thunder grossed $ 144 million in July. The absence of major blockbusters in recent months has caused severe slowdowns at the box office, which could finally return to more usual levels this week.

Excellent debut for Ticket to Paradise, which debuts in second place with 6.4 million dollars (1.1 million previews): in three days it could collect between 16 and 20 million dollars, an excellent counter-programming for a film that is going to make more varied the offer of the weekend for American spectators.

Third position for Smile, which holds very well (-32%) and collects 2.6 million dollars. The excellent word of mouth a month after its release will allow the film to close the weekend between 8.5 and 10 million dollars, well over 100 million dollars overall.

In fourth place we find Halloween Ends, with 2.4 million dollars: a drop of 88% compared to last Friday. It is expected to remain in fourth place over the weekend, grossing around $ 8 million in three days: an 80% drop, much more than the -71% of Halloween Kills which had already been remarkable. It is clear that the streaming availability on Peacock (but also the not exactly positive word of mouth, with a CinemaScore C +) is having a considerable impact.
