"Avatar 2 moved me to tears"

Zoe Saldaña has seen 20 minutes of James Cameron's long-awaited sci-fi sequel. "I became speechless," says the star.
We've been waiting thirteen years for a sequel to "Avatar" but believe it or not, this winter it's finally time to return to Pandora.

Avatar 2 film news

The first review, however, is already here - more or less. Actress Zoe Saldaña has seen 20 minutes of James Cameron's new sci-fi spectacle and she believes that we are not prepared for the emotional smock that awaits:

- I get ready to cry just as I talk about it, because I got to see 20 minutes from the finished film at the end of last year. And I became speechless. I was moved to tears, says Saldana in an interview.

Sonic: The Movie 2 gets a trailer full of nostalgia and references to the games

The fastest blue hedgehog in games is back in theaters - and appealing a lot to nostalgia. The new trailer for Sonic: The Movie 2, released by Paramount Pictures this morning (14), shows more of the hero's return, gives details of the new plot, makes reference to classic games and even shows what we can expect from arrival of Tails and Knuckles.

Most read articles:

The humorous tone of the first feature is again present, as well as the relationship between Sonic and the character of James Marsden. So much so that the trailer opens with the hedgehog breaking into Rachel's (Natasha Rothwell) wedding while escaping with Tails from an army of Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey).

In fact, the villain appears in the sequel with motivations much closer to those that fans know from the games than in the first film. So much so that much of the plot must revolve around the hunt for the Chaos Emeralds, the iconic jewels that are part of the series' mythology and that guarantee infinite power to those who dominate them. And that's what will appeal to Carrey's character.

And that's where we'll see the long-awaited clash between Sonic and Knuckles. The echidna voiced by Idris Elba had already been shown before, but now we see more clearly both the actor's interpretation and the antihero's ability to beat Sonic down.

For those who are crazy about references and easter eggs, the trailer already brings a good dose of mentions to the games. Starting with the classic theme song that plays on Marsden's cell phone as in the snowboarding scene, which is a very fun game with the Sonic Riders series games, which had the hedgehog doing extreme sports.

In addition, the poster released by Paramount also plays with video games, recreating the iconic art of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, for Mega Drive, but with the characters from the film.

Sonic: The Movie 2 hits Brazilian theaters on April 7.

Elizabeth McGovern: Why is Downton Abbey so successful?

news Hbo

Elizabeth McGovern doesn't understand the popularity of 'Downton Abbey'.

The 60-year-old actress is set to reprise her role as Cora Crawley, the Countess of Grantham, in 'Downton Abbey: A New Era' and while she's confident it will be a hit, Elizabeth is still unsure why the series is so successful.

Speaking to the UK edition of OK! magazine, she said: "People ask me why the show has been so successful over the years and I have no idea. I do not get it. I'm just thankful. But viewers identify with it for a variety of reasons.”

Elizabeth also thought doing the 'Downton' films would be a bigger and better experience than working on the TV show. But the actress found on set that there was little difference. She shared: "The funny thing is that it felt very similar. I thought the on-set snacks were better, but no...they weren't.

We were in the same house, we stayed in the same little bed and breakfasts around Highclere Castle. The film looked and felt so much bigger, more expansive and more ambitious than the TV show, but the actual act of shooting really feels the same.”

Batman: Ranking from Worst to Best Hero Film

Now that The Batman has finally hit theaters, fans can go back to their favorite pastime and compare films from different times and contexts in an attempt to define which is the best incarnation of the hero of all time in cinema.

This was a discussion that has always divided the public and that only intensified with the premiere of the new film. After all, pretty much everyone doubted Robert Pattinson's potential as the Batman and he delivered a very different and interesting version of the character, but without giving up his fidelity to the comics.

The Batman: Learn all about the new hero movie, which features Robert Pattinson in the lead role

In the darkest screen adaptation to date, The Batman, by Matt Reeves, features the debut of star Robert Pattinson in the lead role in a plot that mixes horror with noir suspense. The film also addresses a very current topic: the difference between justice and revenge.

Matt Reeves managed to surpass his colleague Christopher Nolan: his vision of Batman is even darker than that of the director of 2008's The Dark Knight. Batman is much more than a superhero movie – it's a horror production shot in a noir style. Over the course of three hours, the hunt for the serial killer Riddler takes place in Gotham City where it's always night and the rain doesn't let up. There is no room for smiles or fun there – only criminality and decadence.

It is in this deplorable environment that Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) is constantly forced to project the symbol of the bat in the sky: it is the signal for Batman to leave the darkness and help him in the fight against marginality. As has happened more and more in hero movies, the story is focused on adult audiences and the theme is less Manichean. There is an interesting subliminal discussion about the difference between justice and revenge, an argument that can easily be transposed to the real world. Quite original, Reeves' script casts doubt on the honesty of Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne's father, Batman's secret identity. This world of secrets and deception is ideal for the bat-man's crises of conscience - he seems to suffer just as much as the bad guys.

Another component that complements the film's oppressive tone is the soundtrack by Michael Giacchino. Coincidence or not, the It's Raining Vengeance theme is similar to Darth Vader's Imperial March from the Star Wars saga. With the flowing cape and stark black suit, Batman's comparison with the Star Wars villain is inevitable.

Responsible for the film's most agonizing scenes, the troubled Riddler is not the only figure that Matt Reeves rescued from the DC Comics universe, the publisher that began publishing Batman, created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939. There is also the presence of the Penguin. (an unrecognizable Colin Farrell) and Catwoman (Zöe Kravitz), as well as gangster Carmine Falcone (John Torturro). The truth is, fans already predicted that Reeves' aesthetic choice would lead him to an extremely dark and violent Batman. At least two of his previous productions gave these clues: Planet of the Apes: The Confrontation and Cloverfield are action films, but with hints of horror. In addition to monkeys and monsters, now Matt Reeves has added a bat to his gallery of creepy types.
