As an actress, Julianne Moore would like to be "surprised" more often.
The actress has been making movies in Hollywood since the 1990s, so she has a deep understanding of the industry. However, she is no longer impressed by many of the scripts she receives. In an interview with Total Film, the 62-year-old actress revealed that she is frequently offered roles that are similar to ones she has already portrayed.
"I often get told, 'I was thinking of you when I wrote this script,' and it's sent to me. But they thought of me because I just did something [similar]. I want to be surprised. When you've been around as long as I have, you can usually anticipate what's coming in the script," explains the Oscar-winning actress.
It looks completely different with your new project, 'Sharper.' The twist took me completely by surprise. 'I read it and really didn't see it coming,' reveals Julianne. The thriller will be released on Apple+ on February 17th. 'I'm interested in human behavior and communication,' adds the performer. 'Why do people engage in a cult or in these systems? There must be a deep sense of joy. Let's face it, there are far easier ways to live than what these characters choose. There has to be an element of addiction to the thrill.
