Maggie Gyllenhaal believes that female filmmakers "are used to working with less".
The 44-year-old actress admitted she worked on a "tiny" budget while filming her acclaimed drama 'Woman in the Dark.' And she also confessed that filming was a little messy behind the scenes. Maggie, who wrote and directed the screenplay, said, "It took us another day and a half. I like wildness. I don't like craziness. And there was a little bit of madness."

The actress and director wishes that women in the film industry would be given "a little more space and time". She told The Hollywood Reporter: "Even when I was an actress doing films [with stories] about women, when we didn't have any money, it was like, 'Fine, fine, we're just going to make do with what we have. ' I really hope that [in the future] we'll have a little bit more space and time."
Maggie recently revealed that her Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Woman in the Dark' "changed her whole life".
