'Paddington 3': New details on the sequel

'Paddington 3' has a new director and an official title.

Filmmaker Dougal Wilson replaces Paul King, who directed both of the previous 'Paddington' films but is currently working on the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' prequel 'Wonka'. The title of the new film is now known. It should read 'Paddington in Peru'.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson said: "As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited, if not a little intimidated, to continue the Paddington story. It's a big responsibility, but all of my efforts will be focused on making a third film that honors the love that so many people have for this very special bear."

King will nevertheless remain on board the project as executive producer, while also creating the story alongside 'Paddington' collaborators Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton. Burton wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Jon Foster and James Lamont.

King added: "After ten years working on the Paddington films, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear and I'm excited that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third adventure on the big one canvas.”

'Scream 6' is getting bloodier than ever before, but has to do without iconic character

After this year's popular Scream 5, there will of course be another in the series of the beloved slasher movies with Ghostface on murderous prey. This means that several of the franchise's new faces will return, while there will also be room for old celebrities in Scream 6.

The sixth horror chapter is going to follow a group of young people leaving the tormented city of Woodsboro in hopes of putting the horrific experiences of the fifth film behind them and starting on a fresh start.

One of the film series' new faces is Jenna Ortega, who played Tara Carpenter in 'Scream 5'. She tells Variety that 'Scream 6' will probably be the bloodiest and most violent in the franchise so far:

- Ghostface is getting a lot more scary. I just read part of the script and it's just getting more and more bloody. I think it's going to be the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we've ever seen, and I think it's going to be really fun to record.

Ortega is also looking forward to actor Hayden Panettiere joining the team. As you know, she played Kirby Reed in Scream 4.

- She's been one of my favorite characters in the franchise for a long time, so it's really cool that her character can come back and get redress.

When the film's filming begins this summer, it will unfortunately be without one of the series' most held characters.

Neve Campbell has chosen not to return as the eternal survivor of Sidney Prescott in 'Scream 6'. Campbell has issued a press release about its decision, where it i.a. reads:

- Unfortunately, I will not be in the next Scream movie.

- As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard throughout my career to determine my worth, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt that the offer presented to me did not match the value I bring to the franchise, elaborates the 48-year-old actor.

- It has been a difficult decision. To all my Scream fans, I love you guys. You have always been so incredibly supportive. I am eternally grateful to you and what the franchise has given me over the last 25 years.

However, it looks like Courteney Cox will return as journalist Gale Weathers, accompanied by My Best Friend's wedding star Dermot Mulroney.

In addition, a small handful of the franchise's legendary actors have shown Campbell their support. Here you will find David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy. It writes i.a. NME.

- Did Tom Cruise get less money for Top Gun: Maverick? Fuck no, dude. So why should a woman get smaller? Why would you not pay her more now that the series continues?

Arquette also shows her support with the words "A Scream movie without Sidney is a little unfortunate, but I understand her decision".

Now we have to see if anyone with the wallet might have time to change their mind, so we still get to see Campbell back in the iconic role as Sidney.

'Scream 6' is expected to premiere in theaters on March 31, 2023.

"The Last of Us Part I" will be released for Playstation 5 and PC this fall

The beloved game "The Last of Us" gets a remake with nicer graphics and better game mechanics.
Almost ten years ago, the hugely acclaimed and best-selling game "The Last of Us" was released, which later received a refined version for Playstation 4.

Some may think it's a little early, but this fall comes a remake called "The Last of Us Part I", which is described as a reworking of the original experience with modernized game mechanics, improved controls and nicer graphics.

Here is a trailer for the game, which comes to Playstation 5 on September 2.

"The Last of Us Part I" follows the story of the survivor Joel who is commissioned to smuggle the girl Ellie through a USA that twenty years ago was hit by a deadly fungal virus that turned a large part of humanity into hungry zombies. What begins as a job slowly develops into a strong relationship.

During the same event, we also saw a first image from the TV series based on the games, with Pedro Pascal ("The Mandalorian") and Bella Ramsey ("Game of Thrones") in the lead roles.

"The Last of Us Part I" will arrive on Playstation 5 on September 2 and on PC at a later date. Considering how much I like the original, I will probably play this one too, although it feels a bit like an unnecessary remake which is mostly the same game with better graphics.

Oscar Academy names Bill Kramer as new CEO

The Oscar Academy has named Bill Kramer as its new CEO. He was "the ideal choice to lead the organization at this crucial moment," said David Rubin, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, on Tuesday (local time) in Los Angeles. Kramer, who oversaw the opening of the new Oscar Film Museum in Los Angeles, succeeds Dawn Hudson, who held the post for 11 years.

The management of the Oscar Academy had come under criticism in recent years, among other things, because of the allegation of a lack of diversity. Under the catchphrase "#OscarsSoWhite" there had been calls for a boycott of the Oscars and storms of protest in the online networks because of the insufficient consideration given to non-white filmmakers.

Hudson then advocated doubling the number of women and non-white members in the academy. The approximately 10,000 Academy members decide every year which films and filmmakers will be awarded the Oscars.

The slap scandal surrounding Hollywood star Will Smith at this year's Oscar gala also recently caused criticism. The 53-year-old hit comedian Chris Rock on stage after he made a joke about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Smith was later barred from all Oscar ceremonies for ten years.
