Kevin Costner plans to split 'Horizon' into four separate films

Kevin Costner has announced that he wants to split 'Horizon' into "four separate films".

The 67-year-old star has spoken about plans for his epic western, which is due to go into production at the end of August and will be his fourth directorial effort, and hopes to release a new film in the series "about every three months".

Revealing that he planned the project as "four different films," the filmmaker told Variety: "They're all different films that are all connected, so you're watching a saga of these storylines that are happening." Kevin also announced that casting has closed for the flick, which marks his first as a director since 2003's 'Open Range', following 1997's 'Postman' and ' Dances With Wolves.' 1990s, is already underway as the team attempts to "cast" a total of 170 speaking roles. And since the film was split into four parts, Costner described the project as an "event television film," but noted that the studio would make the final decision on whether the film would be streamed or presented at the will act on the big screen. "I'm happiest because at some point on TV -- where you can reach your biggest audience -- they're going to see it the way I intended. It's going to eventually be cut up into [hour-long episodes] or 42 minutes -- whatever that is TV works. But you'll see it for the first time in four 2-hour, 45-minute films.

And there'll be one every three months. If you're interested in these characters, hope you really want to see the next one , but he will not be in hourly increments." 'Horizon' is set to span 15 years of settlement on America's western frontier, focusing on both settlers and indigenous groups.

But the home cinema premiere is already within reach.

Antonio Banderas: When he first saw Indiana

Antonio Banderas was in awe when he first saw Harrison Ford in the 'Indiana Jones' costume.

The 61-year-old will star alongside the Hollywood legend in the forthcoming fifth film in the big screen franchise. Now the actor admitted it was "strange" to be on set with such an iconic character. When he saw the costume in real life for the first time, he was really awestruck.

The star told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I was in makeup very early on the first day. Someone knocks on the door, I turn around and he says 'Hey' - and he was Indiana Jones with his wig, hat, all the trimmings. And I was like, 'Whoa, that's weird.'” Previously, like most, the actor had only admired the hero on screen. "I saw Indiana Jones when I moved to Madrid in the early '80s."

While Banderas didn't reveal much about his role in the new film, he recalled how he felt when he first saw the movies hit the big screen in his 20s. He added: "I even remember the name of the theater and I was like, 'Oh my god, this is the future of movies, adventure movies,' and it was for many years. Since 40 years. Now everything changes.

The paradigm of cinema is changing.” Ford (79) will return as the well-known archaeologist in the upcoming fifth installment, directed by James Mangold. He himself recently said: "We are almost done with the next Indiana Jones film with the music by John Williams. And I had a wonderful experience working with James Mangold, again with Kathy and Frank. I'm really proud of the film we made.”

Billy Bob, who has been married six times and has four children from three women, previously revealed he wants to do one movie, one TV show and one record every year to find "a balance" between all the different elements of his career. He said: "I think I'll probably try to find a balance between music, movies and television.

I mean, if I can do one of each every year, like make a record and go on tour, do a movie and a TV thing, that's looking pretty good. And I have kids to take care of." The 'Bad Santa' star has also hinted that TV drama series are the "future" when it comes to telling stories on screen. “These days, streaming shows are a lot like movies. I mean they're cinematic and you can develop a story over a period of episodes so I'm all for it. I think it's the future in many ways."

'Paddington 3': New details on the sequel

'Paddington 3' has a new director and an official title.

Filmmaker Dougal Wilson replaces Paul King, who directed both of the previous 'Paddington' films but is currently working on the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' prequel 'Wonka'. The title of the new film is now known. It should read 'Paddington in Peru'.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson said: "As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited, if not a little intimidated, to continue the Paddington story. It's a big responsibility, but all of my efforts will be focused on making a third film that honors the love that so many people have for this very special bear."

King will nevertheless remain on board the project as executive producer, while also creating the story alongside 'Paddington' collaborators Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton. Burton wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Jon Foster and James Lamont.

King added: "After ten years working on the Paddington films, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear and I'm excited that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third adventure on the big one canvas.”
