As young as in 1981: Harrison Ford was digitally rejuvenated for "Indiana Jones 5".

Another rumor has now been confirmed: "Indiana Jones 5" will feature a young Harrison Ford. There is also a first picture of Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

When Harrison Ford first appeared as adventurous archaeologist Dr. Henry Walton Jones Jr. appeared, he was already 39 years old, only a few weeks away from his 40th birthday. There could not have been a better gift for the anniversary: Indiana Jones became the role of his life, although he was already allowed to play Han Solo in the "Star Wars" films, and made him immortal. Of course, even 30 years from now, this adventure series, which will soon comprise five films, will be remembered - and with it Harrison Ford.

"Indiana Jones 5" will definitely be the last Indy film with the now 80-year-old actor and probably also the farewell to the iconic character. As fantastic as the plot elements of the film series may be at times, you don't buy it even from Indiana Jones that when he is old he is still able to put Nazis on the Twelve. It's already extremely borderline.

No problem, then he'll just be made younger: that's what those responsible around director James Mangold ("Cop Land") must have thought. Because as the filmmaker revealed in an interview with Empire, Ford was digitally rejuvenated for the opening sequence, which will take place in 1944. De-aging is the name of the process that old master Martin Scorsese used for his mafia epic "The Irishman" with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci:

"I wanted to take the chance to dive into that old George [Lucas] and Steven [Spielberg] movie and give the audience an adrenaline rush. […] So the audience does not experience the change between the forties and sixties as an intellectual mind game, but literally experiences the buccaneer spirit of those early days… followed by the beginning of the present.”

This is indeed reminiscent of the opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, when first a significant experience from the youthful days of the young Indiana Jones reveals how he got his famous hat. So what will the focus be this time? The iconic leather jacket from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was even dug out of a warehouse especially for these scenes and reproduced one-to-one after trying it on. The goal, says producer Kathleen Kennedy, is to make the audience think they're looking at old archive footage. And according to Ford, that was also successful:

“This is the first time I see it and believe it. It's a little creepy. I don't think I want to know how it works, but it works. But I don't want to be young anymore. I'm glad I earned my old age."

The only question that remains is whether the digitally rejuvenated Harrison Ford moves like a young man. That was the big shortcoming of "The Irishman". For an actor optically trimmed to be in his late 30s, who continues to move like a late 70's, the immersion is gone no matter how good it may look. You can find out more about Harrison Ford's Indy farewell performance in our video.

Indiana Jones 5: First picture of Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Helena
The first pictures of Harrison Ford and the Nazi villains, played by Mads Mikkelsen and Boyd Holbrook, have already appeared. Now finally a first look at Indy's goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge):

Not much is known about her yet. Rumor has it that she could succeed Indiana Jones and star in the officially confirmed "Indiana Jones" series for Disney+. So the series can be continued without having to find a new actor for Indiana Jones. For Waller-Bridge, the role is like a jackpot:

“She is an enigma and a wonder. Kathy [Kennedy] was in London and wanted to have dinner with me and casually mentioned it. I immediately ordered ten bottles of wine. Then I read a script faster than ever before. […] I just couldn't believe how much fun I was having and how moved I was by it. And then I had a Zoom [meeting] and everyone was like, 'Yes!'."

And: Helena will not just be there as an accompaniment and hold back, she is very involved in the action, promises Waller-Bridge. How, fans will see from June 29, 2023, when "Indiana Jones 5" starts in German cinemas.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made a loving couple appearance at the American Cinematheque Awards in Beverly Hills.
Hollywood dream couple Blake Lively, 35, and Ryan Reynolds, 46, were as in love as ever at the 36th American Cinematheque Awards in Beverly Hills. The 'Gossip Girl' actress slipped into a glamorous spaghetti strap, plunging V-neckline and beaded with sequins gown from Ralph Lauren's fall collection for her red carpet appearance. Not to be overlooked: Lively's baby bump.

Blake Lively: Glamorous appearance with Ryan Reynolds
In September, the two announced that they were expecting children for the fourth time. In addition, the actress wore chic statement earrings with light blue details, a matching ring on her pinky finger and a variety of bracelets, echoing the earth tones of her dress.

Reynolds donned a sleek black velvet suit with silver star-shaped buttons. Underneath he wore a white shirt and a striped anthracite tie. Arm in arm, the two beamed in front of the photographers.

"His heart, his philanthropy, his humor"
After Reynolds was awarded one of the coveted awards, Lively took the stage and addressed moving words to her husband. She raved about "his heart, his philanthropy, his humor, his integrity, his unmatched work ethic." Many of his "breathtaking qualities" would come from his native Canada, where Reynolds was born. He has also had US citizenship since 2018.

Although the two are already parents of three children, they still pursue their professions as actors. Reynolds' role as a father doesn't seem to be neglected, however, because according to Lively it doesn't matter where he's filming, he can't wait to get home to his three daughters.

Since 2014, the two have been parents to little James, 7, followed in 2016 by daughter Inez, 6, and finally little Betty, 3, in 2019. Lively and Reynolds met and fell in love in 2011 while filming the comic book adaptation "Green Lantern". On September 9, 2012, the two married.

The Return of the Addams Family: These are the streaming tips of the week

Tim Burton takes you into the eerily fantastic world of the Addams family, and Jason Momoa invites you into "Slumberland". The overview reveals which streaming highlights the coming week has in store.

The Addams family is back - at least in parts: "Wednesday" (from November 23) comes from the imagination of Tim Burton and focuses on the gloomy-looking title heroine (Jenna Ortega) with the ice-cold hand. The somewhat different high school series on Netflix accompanies her in her everyday school life at Nevermore Academy - an alternative to Harry Potter's magic school Hogwarts, if you will. You can find out what else Netflix, Amazon and Co. have to offer in the next few days in the overview.

"Wednesday", Netflix
In 1938, American readers first became acquainted with a family that was so very different from themselves: for cartoons that appeared in the "New Yorker", Charles Addams created an idiosyncratic, morbid clan with which he created the image of the wanted to satirize the perfect family - "The Addams Family". TV movies on US television, cinema adventures and an animated film followed. Netflix is now dedicating itself to one of the offspring of the eccentric family: the young Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is the title (anti)heroine of the Netflix series of the same name, which will be available from November 23.

Director Tim Burton makes it clear right at the beginning of the eight-part series how radical the student is: when bullies attack Wednesday's brother at high school, she takes revenge in her own way creeps costs him his best piece - and gets Wednesday expelled from school. As a result, the empathetic and emotionless teenager ends up at the notorious Nevermore Academy, a gathering place for outcasts. There, a mysterious series of murders challenges the brilliant intellect of Wednesday, who is also on the trail of a secret about the past of her parents (Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán).

Diabolical, articulate, astute: In "Wednesday" Jenna Ortega transforms into one of the toughest and coolest series characters of Netflix's recent past. The grumpy eponymous heroine fears nothing and no one and openly expresses her dislike of those around her. Screenwriters Miles Millar and Alfred Gough are in top form with sharp-tongued remarks and dialogue duels that have washed out.

"Slumberland", Netflix
New school, new everyday life: A completely new life awaits young Nemo (Marlow Barkley) - and that without her beloved father (Kyle Chandler). He died completely unexpectedly during a sea voyage. Because of this, Nemo has to leave her beloved lighthouse and moves in with her uncle Phillip (Chris O'Dowd). But the girl can only really be herself in her dreams, where she embarks on the adventure of her life with her eccentric new companion Flip (Jason Momoa) - with one goal in mind: Nemo wants to see her father again.

Is "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa bringing a fantasy film highlight to Netflix? In "Slumberland", the new film from "Hunger Games" director Francis Lawrence, the Hollywood star takes on a young girl - and accompanies her and the streaming audience into a magical dream world. "Slumberland" starts on November 18th on Netflix.

"Echo 3", Apple TV+
Scientist Amber Chesborough (Jessica Ann Collins) disappears without a trace on the border between Colombia and Venezuela. Her brother Bambi (Luke Evans) and her husband Prince (Michael Huisman) then set out to find Amber. Elite soldiers with ample military experience, the two men manage to locate Amber's last whereabouts in South America - but Bambi and Prince soon discover that their quest has led them into the middle of an explosive war.

The new Apple Original "Echo 3" is a fast-paced action series from Oscar winner Mark Boal ("Zero Dark Thirty"). The ten-part thriller is based on the award-winning Israeli series "When Heroes Fly" and the novel of the same name by Israeli writer Amir Gutfreund. The first three episodes of "Echo 3" can be seen on November 23 on Apple TV+. A new episode will follow each week.

"Poker Face", WOW
Poker is the great passion of tech billionaire Jake (Russell Crowe). But when he rounds up old friends to play, he has another goal in mind: he wants to get rid of old secrets once and for all. It's about a whopping $25 million - in chips, of course - and an uncomfortable truth that's finally about to come to light. However, Jake's plan is foiled when an old acquaintance breaks into Jake's house. Suddenly the poker night is about much more than money and friendships: nothing less than the lives of everyone involved is at stake.

The Sky original "Poker Face" shows whether Jake and his former friends will survive the night. Oscar winner Russell Crowe not only takes on the leading role, but is also responsible for directing the suspense-packed thriller behind the scenes. "Poker Face" will be available on WOW from November 19th.

"Welcome to Wrexham", Disney+
It is the contrast program to Hollywood glamour: the football club Wrexham AFC plays in the English National League, the fifth highest English division, and is the pride of a working class town in North Wales. It was at this club of all places that Ryan Reynolds fulfilled his dream of his own football club – the actor has owned the "Dragons" together with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Rob McElhenney since 2020. A new documentary series now takes a look at Reynolds commitment.

"Welcome to Wrexham" tells the story of sporting outsiders - the "training room" consists of about five machines, far from the glamor of the Premier League. In addition, the 18-part series highlights the challenges of an underdeveloped area: Wrexham residents often have little more than this club. A real responsibility for the two overseas actors - especially since they don't have any experience to speak of. Disney+ will feature "Welcome to Wrexham" on November 23.

"The Menu": Cinematic horror treat with Ralph Fiennes

by Anna Wollner

Margot: Does everyone fit on it?
Tylor: Easy, there are twelve guests.
Margot: How are they going to make a profit?
Tylor: At 1,250 a head.
Margot: Are we eating a Rolex?

What does the best food in the world taste like?
No, it's not a Rolex that the twelve selected guests are being fed on the island of Hawthorne. It's the best food in the world, twelve courses, composed and coordinated. "Don't eat, taste" is the motto.

The star chef Julian Slowik invited, a vain, elegant perfectionist, played by Ralph Fiennes, who runs the kitchen with military drill, monitors the entire property like the leader of a sect and is admired by his employees.

Guests -- alongside self-proclaimed foodie Tylor and his companion Margot, played by Nicholas Hoult and Anya Taylor-Joy -- include an elderly millionaire couple, a food critic, a publisher, a once-famous actor and a group of businessmen. All handpicked by Slowik himself.

"The Menu": Reckoning with the cult of good food
"The Menu" is an experimental arrangement, follows the strict order of the menu, perfidiously planned by the star chef, who at some point is mad in his eyes. It's a reckoning with the cult of good food, no matter what the price, with the ever-increasing expectations of well-heeled guests to be entertained. They are entertained, just differently than expected.

Director Mark Loys, previously specialized in series such as "Succession" or "Game of Thrones", presents a multi-layered horror satire with deep black humor, staged as an intimate play. With a few exceptions, almost everything takes place in the restaurant room with an open kitchen. The team presents course after course as if on a stage.

Anya Taylor-Joy exudes joy
Slowik's opponent is Margot, invited by Tylor at short notice and a foreign body in this scenario - a great joy for Anya Taylor-Joy as an actor, which you can tell from her. "Margo herself is a mystery," says Anya Taylor-Joy in an interview. "Both for the audience and for those present in the restaurant. She performs herself. She plays with the others. I found that very interesting. At the beginning, everyone in this room has a role, but as the evening progresses, they show more her true colors. I found it exciting to create a life of her own for Margo. When she shows her true colors you can see her sincerity and it is easy to distinguish between her role and her real self."

The guests become extras in their own funeral feast. Almost performatively, "The Menu" negotiates the relationship between food as art, stages it as a vital relationship of dependency and declares it to be an empty consumer shell. It is a film that is unpredictable from the first to the last minute and in the grand finale it overdoes it to such an extent that it is a cinematic feast for the palate.

Young Audience Award: "Animal" is the best European children's film

The Young Audience Award - this time in Erfurt, Germany - is the counterpart to the European Film Awards for children and young people. Young film fans from all over Europe had the choice between three entries selected by a committee of experts. This year's winner comes from France: The environmental documentary "Animal" by Cyril Dion.

We asked Matthijs Wouter Knol, Managing Director and Director of the European Film Academy since 2021, how exactly this works.

"Young people between the ages of 12 and 14 were invited to watch the three nominated films and Cyril Dion's film 'Animal' was one of them. They watched the films and had the opportunity to discuss them beforehand. And then , a month before the other European Film Awards, voted on their favorite film. And the result is the Young Audience Award."

"Animal" is about the mass extinction of species. Director Cyril Dion and two teenagers, Bella and Vipulan, spoke to scientists and environmental activists from around the world to understand the phenomenon and, more importantly, how we can stop it.

The film competition ran online, but the three candidate films were also shown in cinemas in more than 70 European cities.

Matthijs Wouter Knol: "It's a project that grew especially in the time when screenings were only possible online. It was much easier to reach many young people who couldn't go to the cinema. And actually it's for it's a lot more natural now to either go to the movies or watch the movies online."

In addition to "Animal", the Swedish feature film "Comedy Queen" by director Sanna Lenken and the German feature film "Traume sind wie wilde Tiger" by Lars Montag were also nominated.

The European Film Awards will be held in Reykjavik on December 10th. Euronews will of course be there...
