Based on a spectacular case: missed one of the best German thrillers on TV?

Anyone who has little faith in German film should now read on carefully. More than two decades ago, Hans-Christian Schmid marked a turning point in German cinema history with his film “23 – Nothing is as it seems”. Here you can find out why you shouldn't miss the thriller and where you can watch it in the stream.

The German director Hans-Christian Schmid is currently proving in the cinema with the drama "We are then probably the relatives" that he is one of the best in his squad and knows how to translate classic thriller material into sober, but no less depressing images.

The tragic case of the young hacker Karl Koch, who together with like-minded people carried out the legendary KGB hack in the 1980s, also belongs to such classic thriller material.

Koch and the others hacked into alien systems around the world and ended up working as spies for the KGB. Cook, obsessed with the number 23, believed he was on the trail of the Illuminati and acting in the service of world peace, but slipped deeper and deeper into cocaine addiction and gradually alienated himself from his closest friends and fellow hackers, the finally got him admitted.

Koch, who defined himself as a left-wing activist throughout his life, later worked as a messenger – for the CDU of all things. However, he never returned from his last errand trip.

His charred body was found a short time later in a forest in Lower Saxony. He died presumably on May 23, 1989 at the age of 23. The exact circumstances of his death are still unclear to this day.

Yesterday, Monday, November 28, the ARD offshoot One showed Schmid's congenial cinematic translation of a spectacular and shocking case in German hacker history at 8:15 p.m.

"23 - Nothing is as it seems" masterfully traces the inexorable path of self-destruction in form and content and is brilliantly cast with German actors such as August Diehl, Burghardt Klaußner and Hanns Zischler - 99 minutes of high tension guaranteed! If you missed the TV broadcast, you can alternatively stream the film on Amazon for a small rental fee or buy it directly there.

At the diner Denji hears that the man next to him claims to be Yakuza father.

The man who claims to be the yakuza father argues with Denji and Aki.

The man tells the figure of his father so well.

It is said that Denji will like his father.

Denji is confused by the yakuza father's man.

Denji is surprised that his father had been killed by him.

The stranger said that Gun Devil wanted Denji's heart.

Previously Himeno saw Denji Action defeating the demon of immortality.

Himeno's teacher said that demon hunters that demons fear are having screws loose in their heads or not being afraid of demons anymore.

Most of the demon hunters who joined Himeno were normal people.

The teacher mentions that although Aki wants to kill Gun Devil, the reality is that Himeno and the other demon hunters joining forces to hunt Gun Devil are not abnormal enough.

The devil won't know what abilities an abnormal or crazy person like Denji has.

So that there is no fear of death or abnormality that makes the devil afraid.

The teacher also said that if Himeno comes to a friend's meal every month then the head screws are still tight.

Himeno was silent then the teacher told her to continue training Aki and not to be gentle with her.

It is known that the Chainsaw Man series itself was adapted from the Manga written by Tatsuki Fujitama.

The manga itself was released in December 2016.

Meanwhile, the film was directed by Director Ryu Nakayama.

The character from Chainsaw Man himself is like Denji, a man who lives a hard life until he has to work with the Yakuza Demon King.

Then there is Makajima, a mysterious figure who always gives jobs to Kenji.

New film adaptation of the novel planned: Bambi becomes the "diabolical killing machine"

Two US filmmakers plan to take advantage of the loss of copyright on the original 1923 Bambi novel to turn the innocent fawn into a killing machine.

Disney's Bambi is innocence personified. Now ITN Studios and Jagged Edged Productions want to reverse the image of the cute fawn and retell the story - title: "Bambi: The Reckoning". Producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield warned "Dread Central" in advance: "Get ready for Bambi with rabies", the fawn should become "a devilish killing machine" that "sneaks through the wilderness."

Frake-Waterfield is the executive producer of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, which is set for US release early next year. Bambi, the second Disney classic, is also due to receive a splatter remake at the beginning of next year. This is possible because the copyright for "Winnie The Pooh" ended earlier this year and everyone is now allowed to use this character. The situation is similar with Bambi. The copyright rights to "Bambi. Eine Lebensgeschichte im Walde" have expired since 2016, the Disney film adaptation was based on the novel by Austrian writer Felix Salten.

Producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield and director Scott Jeffrey are now free to use the template. However, any Disney elements of Bambi's character are still off-limits to the filmmakers. It is therefore not yet possible to predict what Bambi will look like as a killing machine and whether he will take the death of his mother as an opportunity for a revenge campaign across the undergrowth.

Out of shame: Daniel Craig hid his own films in the video store

Unusual confession from Daniel Craig: The former Bond actor used to hide video cassettes of films in which he had acted in the video store.

News Daniel Craig

Many actors don't like to see themselves in films, Daniel Craig even went one step further: As he now told in an interview with "Yahoo! Movies", he hid VHS cassettes when visiting the "Blockbuster" video store chain of films in which he acted but which, in hindsight, he didn't think were good.

Back when the chain still existed, he often went there to rent films himself, Craig recalls. By then he had already made a few films himself. "If I saw one of my films on the shelf, I would pick it up and throw it under the counter," the former James Bond actor admitted. "I knew it wouldn't make much of a difference, but I thought if even one less person saw the film, that would be a good thing."

Dave Bautista: Daniel Craig wasn't the happiest person as Bond
He's probably happier with his work now - and according to his Knives Out co-star Dave Bautista, Craig is also more relaxed now that his 007 stint is over. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star, who played an opponent of the famous secret agent in "James Bond 007: Spectre", recently said in an "Entertainment Weekly" interview that it was too sweet that Craig was filming Bond "was under a lot of pressure" and "didn't seem the happiest person". When working together on "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery", however, he was very different: "He was so funny and always smiling," says Bautista.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, currently in cinemas and available on Netflix December 23, sees Daniel Craig reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc and co-starring Dave Bautista and Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson and Ethan Hawke.

Lionel Messi vs. Georg Wilsberg: The TV tips for football grouches

Tired of watching prime time football from Qatar? We recommend three worthwhile alternative programs for those who don't like the World Cup on each evening of the World Cup: on Saturday with the mother of all blockbuster conspiracy theories, a very funny "Wilsberg" and the Yeti theory that it's impossible for people to exist.

Argentina vs Mexico is the name of the primetime game at 8 p.m. on the first. If this duel isn't fiery enough for you, if you can't do anything with the kicking game in Qatar or are simply not interested in football, you'll find three worthwhile fiction alternatives on this evening as well.

"Wilsberg: Bielefeld 23" (ZDF)
Lionel Messi vs Georg Wilsberg. What will the viewers decide on this Saturday evening? Kicking superstar vs. grumbling private detective. "Bielefeld 23" was the name of the 66th episode of the crime series "Wilsberg", which premiered in early 2020 and is now being repeated. The film (ZDF, 8:15 p.m.) is one of the funniest in recent years. Not only because an old acquaintance is returning: private investigator Wilsberg (Leonard Lansink) is once again in Bielefeld, in the East Westphalian "metropolis", which has been a popular running gag in the many "Wilsberg" years. Wilsberg's old friend, the Bielefeld building authority manager Manni Höch (Heinrich Schafmeister), has gotten into trouble. He is accused of taking bribes. Wilsberg's buddy, the tax investigator Ekki (Oliver Korittke), is of course there, but suffers from the city - he is constantly being cynically attacked here by the local commissioner Drechshage (Stefan Haschke) because of his interference. In this episode, fans were happy about the return of the charmingly goofy Manni and criminalistic tabloid theater at its finest.

"The Da Vinci Code - Da Vinci Code" (VOX)
"The Da Vinci Code - Sakrileg" (VOX, 8:15 p.m.) begins with the murder of the museum director of the Louvre, who stages his death in a special way in the minutes of his death. Strange behavior - why would a murder victim do such a thing? The question prompts Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a professor of art history and symbolism. Together with the French police cryptographer Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), the daughter of the dead man, he takes up the investigation. A hunt across Europe begins. In 2006, Ron Howard filmed Dan Brown's mega bestselling thriller of the same name from 2003. With its cinema premiere, "The Da Vinci Code - Da Vinci Code" became one of the most successfully launched films of all time. In the end it grossed over 760 million dollars, in Germany alone more than five million cinemagoers wanted to see the blockbuster with Tom Hanks. He was widely praised for his role, although the film's reviews were mixed. Friends of conspiracy theories - meanwhile you might see this in a different light - will definitely have fun with the absurdly ingenious theses, twists and derivations of this extremely entertaining Hollywood madness.

"Smallfoot - An Icy Adventure" (SAT.1)
The animated comedy "Smallfoot - Ein Eisigartiges Abenteuer" (SAT.1, 8.15 p.m.), which was released in cinemas in 2018, pokes fun at fears, is a story about courage and a love of discovery - but it also offers highly topical social criticism: the young Yeti Migo, who in the German dubbing is spoken by Kostja Ullmann, is a curious and at the same time well-behaved guy whose destiny is to wake up his snowy village with the obligatory gong. One day he makes a momentous discovery: he witnesses a plane crash and sees a human being! He immediately delivers the message to the other Yetis, without realizing what he is triggering: his own discrediting and banishment. Because these "smallfoots" must not exist, according to the laws carved in stone, which no one is allowed to question. The film is based on the book "Yeti Tracks" by the Spaniard Sergio Pablos and is - even if it holds the mirror up to us - extremely charming. "Smallfoot - An Icy Adventure" (Director: Karey Kirkpatrick, "Over the Hedge") offers a brightly colored entertaining animated film for the whole family and is at the same time a wonderful plea against prejudice.
