Box of chocolates from "Forrest Gump" sold for $25,000

This is one of the famous scenes from "Forrest Gump": The title character sits on a bench, eats chocolates and reviews his life. Now the box of chocolates has been auctioned for $25,000.

An auction is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. Even when auctioning a prop from "Forrest Gump" you were only smarter with the highest bid. Under the hammer was the box of chocolates from which the title hero nibbles in a scene from the classic film. The box has Ripley's Believe It or Not! now auctioned for 25,000 US dollars, the equivalent of around 23,000 euros.

The US group announced this yesterday on its website. Ripley's is now the "owner of the iconic chocolate prop used by Tom Hanks in 1994's Forrest Gump." Why did the company charge so much for the box? Maybe because the auction took place just before today's Valentine's Day. Because, according to Ripley's, "candy boxes are synonymous with Valentine's Day."

Forrest Gump - Achiever and everyday philosopher

"Forrest Gump" is one of the most successful films of all time. The film adaptation of Winston Groom's novel of the same name tells the fictional story of a man who, despite his mental limitations, achieves everything in life. Forrest makes a career as a football and table tennis player, he becomes a decorated war hero, rises to become a successful entrepreneur and also finds happiness in his private life.

The feel-good film, which won six Oscars, is peppered with memorable scenes. This also includes the episodes in which Forrest - sitting on a bench and holding a box of chocolates on his lap - tells his changing seat neighbors stories from his eventful life. The everyday philosopher also quotes the following sentence: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."

Vin Diesel reveals with "Fast & Furious 10" picture: Then comes the first trailer for the action film

Less than half a year separates us from the theatrical release of the latest installment in the fast-paced car series. A trailer is finally in sight – but fans still have to be patient.

The "Fast & Furious" series has two official films left for its fans before coming to an end, with several spin-offs expected to follow. "Fast & Furious 10" will mark the double finale in German cinemas on May 18, 2023. While the theatrical release is around the corner, fans are still waiting for the trailer. However, according to Vin Diesel, the lead actor and producer of the series, the trailer will be out in a few weeks. He shared a photo from the filming of "Fast & Furious 10," where Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and her brother Dom (played by Diesel) are hugging, emphasizing the importance of family in the series.

One reason why the trailer has been so long in coming could be the departure of director Justin Lin, who directed five parts of the series. Shortly after filming began, he left the directing post on Fast & Furious 10, allegedly due to creative differences with Studio Universal and Vin Diesel, but remains on board as a producer. Louis Leterrier ("Now You See Me") took over the helm in his place, though the unexpected search for a new director caused production delays.

In contrast to Justin Lin's departure, several familiar faces return for Fast & Furious 10 alongside Vin Diesel and Jordana Brewster, including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Ludacris, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michael Rooker, and Scott Eastwood. Cardi B also returns. New stars include Jason Momoa ("Aquaman"), Brie Larson ("Captain Marvel"), Daniela Melchior ("The Suicide Squad"), and Rita Moreno ("West Side Story").

Julianne Moore Criticizes Boring Role Offers

As an actress, Julianne Moore would like to be "surprised" more often.

The actress has been making movies in Hollywood since the 1990s, so she has a deep understanding of the industry. However, she is no longer impressed by many of the scripts she receives. In an interview with Total Film, the 62-year-old actress revealed that she is frequently offered roles that are similar to ones she has already portrayed.

"I often get told, 'I was thinking of you when I wrote this script,' and it's sent to me. But they thought of me because I just did something [similar]. I want to be surprised. When you've been around as long as I have, you can usually anticipate what's coming in the script," explains the Oscar-winning actress.

It looks completely different with your new project, 'Sharper.' The twist took me completely by surprise. 'I read it and really didn't see it coming,' reveals Julianne. The thriller will be released on Apple+ on February 17th. 'I'm interested in human behavior and communication,' adds the performer. 'Why do people engage in a cult or in these systems? There must be a deep sense of joy. Let's face it, there are far easier ways to live than what these characters choose. There has to be an element of addiction to the thrill.
